Why would an overweight, out-of-shape, middle-aged woman turn off the TV and get off the couch to subject herself to kickboxing and karate? One reason is a spouse who is a physician who sees the ravages of the TV/couch relationship on too many patients. Another is the desire to be actively involved with grand kids (who aren't even here yet!) and a desire to see the world in person. (Cruising is my preferred mode of travel, but you have to get off the ship to experience the best of each port!)
So here I am -- a kickboxing, karate student. What has it done for me? The best parts -- I used to get up in the middle of the night with aches and pains. Now, I may have temporary soreness after a hard work-out, but I sleep through the night! My energy level is WAY up and I am amazed at the increase in my range of motion. My arthritis is much more manageable and my latest lab work was all at normal levels. Is it hard work that requires dedication? Yes, indeed! But the Kriegisch's are truly interested in helping me build a better me. Look out world -- here I come!
